Ballyholme Big Bay Swim, 9th September
On Sunday, the first year of the Ballyholme Big Bay Swim took place (in association with Swim Ulster). We had 3 team members who took to the water: Chris Millar (5k Wetsuit), Elaine Robie (5k Skins) and Donna McConkey (1.5k Wetsuit).
Unfortunately despite determined efforts in the water by all swimmers, the wind and waves proved the stronger force and all events were cancelled mid-swim for safety reasons. A disappointing outcome for organisers and swimmers alike but hopefully the event will take place again next year and the weather will be kinder.
