Eskragh lake was the place to be on Saturday 27th July, where the Tri limits middle distance ‘unfinished business’ race took place, in much better weather conditions than last year. Riada was well supported with Chris Millar, Eddie Hampton, Damien McGuckian, Graeme Potter, Hall Booth, Janine Gordon, Karen Neil, Kevin Doherty, Marshall Craig, Ross Armstrong, Simon Daly and William Neil all taking part. A few first timers at this distance and everyone successfully completed the course. Even with some picking up great PB’s for the distance, the highlight of the day was seeing how club members support and encourage each other until everyone is safely over the line! A huge well done to all.

Meanwhile, over in Nottingham, after months of training and preparation, Sarah Chesnutt was fully ready to take on the full ‘Iron’ distance of The Outlaw on Sunday 28th July. Swim done and getting ready to get into transition to bike, Sarah and the other athletes were greeted with the disappointing news from the race director that due to adverse weather (flooding), the bike section was cancelled but the race would continue with the full marathon run. It’s probably a test in itself to overcome the disappointment this brings and be able to mentally move on and get on with the race, but Sarah stood up to the challenge and completed the marathon and still managed a pretty impressive smile at the finish. Well done Sarah!!
