A busy week, started off with Karen Neill and Donna McConkey at the Ballymena Belle’s 5 mile road race on Tuesday evening. Well done both of you and a special mention for Karen getting a cracking 42:07 PB!

Wednesday night saw team members, Janine Gordon, Eddie Hampton, Chris Millar, Rob Lawrence and Hall Booth, in action at the Ballymena Road Club 10 mile TT. In less than perfect conditions, all had great finishing times, but extra congratulations for Hall Booth, who not only pb’d in 22:42, but also picked up the Stan Finlay trophy for fastest BRC rider on the night!! Well Hall, I doubt all this triathlon training malarkey’s paying off!!!?

On Saturday, Nigel McKnight took part in Triangle Triathlon Club’s training challenge, getting himself ready for the season ahead. Also in action was Janine Gordon, who had a brilliant race at the East Tyrone GP, narrowly missing on the podium (ended up 4th). Well done Janine!!
So, on to today- Paul Esler and Mark Allison took part in the Garvagh forest 21k trail run. Great racing on a challenging course.
Finally, Nigel McKnight takes the honours of being the first in the club to take part in a triathlon this year!! Well done to Nigel who competed in the Stenaline triathlon today.

On another note, welcome home to Susan Brown, who returned last week from a challenging trek to Everest base camp. A great achievement. That certainly takes altitude training to a higher level….. no pun intended!!!

And lastly, but very importantly, we all wish Marshall Craig a speedy recovery from his bike crash during the week. I’m sure you’ll be back to your Ironman training in no time Marshall.
